Building Relationships

This is Jaymie, my Golden Retriever. This picture was taken some years ago at the Kingston Kennels booth during the Georgia State Frisbee Championships. The picture perfectly captures the essence of our relationship together. Jaymie was my soul mate and was by my side, helping me do my job for over fourteen years. We could not have shared this kind of relationship without a common language..........the language created through training together. My sweet girl passed on in April of 2008 and I now cherish and hang on to all of the great memories of the good times we shared together and just how much she taught me about life and about myself. I wish for every client that comes here to work with their dog, that they will eventually be able to share with their dog the kind of bond I had with Jaymie. The possibility exists, and getting there is not as difficult as it seems. If you have just a few minutes to spend training with your dog each day, you can train your dog. There are very very few dogs I have ever met that I have considered untrainable. I urge folks not to ever give up on training. There are many ways to get a dog trained so that you can share a happy life together. If you've tried something and it didn't work, you should keep trying until you find something that does work. I believe that owning a dog should be a good experience, and that creating dogs that we can live with happily is the goal we should strive toward. DOG TRAINING CLASSES Cyndy Douan will be instructing a six lesson Basic Dog Training Class starting on Monday July 14, 2008 at 7pm at Georgia Dog Gym,LLC. The class cost is $150.00. The class covers loose leash walking, heel , sit, down, stay, come when called, and addresses behavior problems such as jumping up, pulling on leash, barking, nipping, mouthing, and chewing. The class will also teach leadership skills and management techniques. We provide a workbook which guides you through your daily homework with your dog. Private Dog Training Lessons

Cyndy Douan instructs basic obedience in private lesson formats that can be more convenient and offer more individualized attention to clients and their dogs. A basic obedience course covers loose leash walking, heel , sit, down, stay, come when called, and addresses common behavior problems such as jumping up, pulling on leash, barking, nipping, mouthing, and chewing. Leadership skills and management techniques are also instructed. Prices for private lessons start at $450 for a basic six-lesson program. Cyndy also works with various abnormal canine behaviors including fears & phobias, aggression, separation anxiety, obsessive/compulsive behaviors, and house soiling. Programs and prices may vary. You may be asked to meet for an evaluation prior to starting a training program. Please contact us for details.
